At First Presbyterian Church, we want to be involved in the lives we serve. We are dedicated to representing the love of Christ, sharing the gospel, and providing prayerful and financial support to help meet the needs of others in our U.S. community and to our world communities.

In our local community, we support mission efforts such as the Bethlehem House, Daily Bread, the youth at the Juvenile Detention Center, local food banks, schools, and Conway Cradle Care. We partner with CoHo on a community garden here at the church. We also support mission efforts within the United States through a variety of love offerings that include the Pentecost Offering, the Peacemaking Offering, and the One Great Hour of Sharing as well as children and youth mission trips. We also respond to global needs that include the children in Haiti and orphans from the Kipsongo Slum in Kitale, Kenya.

COMMUNITY

Bethlehem House

Bethlehem House

We are dedicated to helping the Bethlehem House encourage, equip, and motivate homeless individuals and families to take the necessary steps to change their life situations.  Currently we provide prayer and food drives to stock their food pantry for our families and neighbors in need.  Additionally, we are involved with the interfaith mission ministry team; an alliance of several local churches organized to build a facility to provide emergency care for homeless families at the Bethlehem House.  Please join us in this important mission.

Daily Bread

Daily Bread

We are dedicated to helping feed the hungry in Faulkner County through our Daily Bread Ministry which provides transportation
support and hot meals on two Thursdays each month.  Click the link above for dates, how you can help, or if you are hungry and need a ride.

Cradle Care

Conway Cradle Care Logo

We are dedicated to helping support the stay-in-school daycare located within our buildings for infants and toddlers of student parents. The support helps the student parents continue their education and raise their children with tender, loving care.

At the present time, we provide financial support on a monthly basis to meet the needs of the Cradle Care mission.

Juvenile Detention Center Ministry
We are dedicated to helping support youth who have been incarcerated and who need encouraging words and the understanding that someone cares for them.

At the present time, we meet with the youth on a weekly basis. We have more recently supported efforts to provide financial support for a book club for the youth.

Children, Youth, and Adult Mission Trips
We are dedicated to helping respond to the needs of communities, especially communities affected by natural disasters.

Monthly Food Collections and School Supply Drives
We are dedicated to helping local food banks provide food for the hungry. We have school supply drives designed to provide school supplies for children and youth who cannot afford such supplies without such assistance.

WORLD

Haiti Ministry
We are dedicated to restoring hope in the lives of men, women, and children from Haiti. Haiti has long been considered the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Today, the vast majority of Haitians live at the lowest economic level and many suffer from a lack of food.

At the present time, we support this PC(USA) program by providing school uniforms and supplies necessary for youth in Haiti to continue their education; an education necessary for youth to break the cycle of poverty.

Kitale Ministry
In partnership with a variety of churches, organizations, businesses, schools, and the Chicks for Children Foundation, Inc, First Presbyterian Church – Conway helps with outreach efforts to support men, women, and children from the Kipsongo Slum in Kitale, Kenya. At the present time, there is a campaign to build a second orphanage for 100 children who live in the Kipsongo Slum. Click the links for more information on how to invest in the lives of children. Dr. Cooper and others at First Presbyterian Church – Conway will help organize Chicken Dance Service Learning Marathons designed to teach children and youth how to become more service minded and address hunger and poverty.

Offerings

Pentecost Offering
We are dedicated to the Pentecost Offering. The generous gifts to this Offering enable the PC(USA) to encourage, develop and support its young people, as well as provide assistance to at-risk children. In addition, a large portion of this offering can be kept by individual congregations for use in their own communities.

Peacemaking Offering
We are dedicated to the Peace Offering. The Peacemaking Offering seeks to promote the Peace of Christ across the PC(USA). Individual congregations are encouraged to utilize a large portion of this offering to sustain their local peacemaking ministries.

One Great Hour of Sharing Offering
We are dedicated to PC(USA’s) One Great Hour of Sharing which shares God’s love with those in need. Your generous gifts assist those affected by natural disasters, provide food to the hungry, and assist in helping to empower the poor and oppressed.
