We love our kiddos and are thrilled to offer a preschool home for so many children. First Presbyterian Christian Preschool is nearing its 20th year of operation. The Preschool Program offers an age appropriate development curriculum (Adventures in Learning and Great God, Grateful Child) that encourages learning through a variety of experiences in a loving and Christ centered environment. Enrichment activities include science and nature activities possible through an outdoor classroom, cooking experiences, age appropriate field trips and special guest speakers. The preschool classes attend Music class once a week and Spanish class is offered on Wednesday. Our main goal is to prepare your child for Kindergarten by exposing them to shapes, colors, numbers, letters and pre-reading skills.
Message from Teresa Crosson, Director of First Presbyterian Children’s Education Ministries
As director, and having been involved with the preschool program since it was started in 1996, I feel so blessed to be a part of this educational and Christian Ministry of First Presbyterian Church. The Weekday Ministries are so fortunate to be able to offer a faith-based early Childhood and Pre-K Program to approximately 100 children each year in the Conway area. The Pre-K and Kid’s Day Out Programs are an awesome opportunity for children to have a great learning experience in a Christ-Centered environment that also is a preparation for Kindergarten and their education experience ahead!
Saundra Sturdivant, one of our wonderful teachers shares with us,
As a teacher, I feel blessed to teach children about God’s word and His love. There are situations where we are the first and/or only minister of God and His Holy Word to these young children. I pray that the teachings from this preschool will reach through the child to the family and many will be saved. It is an honor to teach at FPCEM.
Two 3yr old preschool classes
Monday, Wednesday and Friday
Tuesday and Thursday
All of these classes meet from 8-11:30a.m.
Our playground is full of clean age appropriate climbing and riding toys, goals and balls to play with, and even a picnic area!
The kids enjoy many special events throughout the year. We have trips to the pumpkin patch and the zoo; special celebrations for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Mother’s Day, and Graduation. The Conway Fire Department, Police, Dentist, and other visitors come to our classrooms. Not enough excitement you say? We have many other fun classroom celebrations like Fall Festival, Pajama Day, Valentine’s Day, 100th day and Easter, and special Chapel time with the Children’s minister.
