Hearing God's Call: Stories of Faith and Life and Work

"God, please help me discern your call!" Most of us have asked God such a question. How do I know God's call? This question begs another question, "How interested is God in my faith venture, my daily walk and talk, and my workplace?" I may work within or outside the home. I may be fully employed or retired. I may have significant leisure time to very little. I may make a high salary or wait for employment. Does God care? Do I have a calling in the midst of my present circumstance? If so, what does such a call mean? What do I do about it? What is God's intent? How do I know? What if I miss the call? What if I just can't figure out His call? While such questions are quite personal and answered only through our individual faith journeys, hearing how others have faced such questions may often help. Each Wednesday evening of the fall, different members of the congregation will share their thoughts about God's call in their faith venture, daily lives, and workplace.  Speakers will include: Jim Hays, Julie Adkisson, Jim Lane, Barbara Watkins, Mark Cooper, Patti Howse, Lyle Rupert, and Jan Spann.  Convener will be Peg Falls-Corbitt.
