Rev. Drew G. Travis has been the Pastor/Head of Staff of FPC Conway since March 1, 2008.
Drew has a Bachelor of Arts in History from Texas Tech University and a Masters of Divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary. He's in the fourth generation of his family in which all males are ordained ministers (mostly Presbyterian).
Before serving in Conway, Drew served as Pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Plainview, Texas, from 1996 to 2008; Pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Clovis, New Mexico, from 1993 to 1995; Pastor of Palo Cristi Presbyterian Church in Paradise Valley, Arizona, from 1989 to 1991; Pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Brownfield, Texas, from 1984 to 1988; and Temporary Supply for Messiah Presbyterian Church in Lubbock, Texas, from 1980 to 1981.
Drew says that he "firmly believe[s] that the church must be involved in the community and that its unique contributions are particularly needed today." This belief can be witnessed throughout his ministry.
Drew and his wife, Rhonda, a seventh grade Life Skills teacher, are parents of six children. Britton is a new mother, and, continuing the family tradition of Presbyterian ministry, is Director of Youth Ministry at Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock. Her husband, Chris, works for Arkansas.gov. Kristin is recently married and is a case worker for Child Protective Services in San Antonio. Jesse is a senior at Austin College and is very involved with “Best Buddies,” an organization that seeks to enhance the lives of children with intellectual disabilities. Jesse’s twin sister Jordan graduated from Trinity University last month and has received local notoriety for her successful efforts raising social awareness about the situation in Darfur. Hailey, a high school senior, enjoys arts and is busy applying to and considering colleges. Dylan is an eighth grader and enjoys playing quarterback for the football team and playing on the basketball team.
